This same publication praised the development of the mRNA technology when it first arrived on the scene – the very technology that went on to become the foundation for the COVID-19 vaccine.

We are so excited about the advancements that are explored in this issue. Firstly, because they remind us that progress is an ever-evolving process – there is no limit to human curiosity and our drive to discover the deeper nuances of the world in which we live.

Secondly, the inclusion of spatial omics in this issue is especially exhilarating for us as it directly correlates to the curricula for our 2023 summer program. NJIN’s Capstone Mentorship Program, developed this year, is a 12-week research program where students are mentored by experts in the fields of biomedical and environmental sciences in the components of research design as well as field and lab work. A primary focus will be identifying the spatial omics in both plant and human biology to determine the medicinal effects of certain plants on human health. We are beyond thrilled that we are going to be introducing to and exploring with our students one of the world’s most progressive technologies!
